The history of the pool

A pool is an artificial structure that, like a standing tank, holds the required water used for various purposes.

In ancient Rome and Greece, artificial pools were used for sports and military purposes and to teach water skills. The ancient Roman empires built swimming pools in their palaces, which contained various fish. From a lexical perspective, the word “pool” is derived from the Latin word “piscina” meaning a fish pond or swimming pool. In the Persian dictionary, “pool” means a reservoir, a pond, or a large pool in which a lot of water accumulates. The old form of the word “pool” that was mostly used in Arabic texts was “estakhr” and sometimes “estakhr”, which eventually evolved into the current form of “estakhr” over time.

Modern swimming pools have been popular since the mid-19th century. In 1896, after the start of the Olympic Games and swimming competitions, the design and construction of swimming pools grew rapidly. It was after World War I that public interest in holding swimming competitions increased.Standards related to swimming pools were also developed and published, and the need for proper swimming technique training became doubly important. It was after World War II that the general trend towards building home pools increased, and pools gradually found their way into residential buildings.
